What Does It Mean to be a Missional Church?
The church does not exist for itself, but for the world that God loved so much he gave "his only son."Living missionally means that the church takes the time to observe its cultural context-the world in which it lives and breathes and has its being.
Living missionally means a congregation is learning to distinguish between the positive and the negative, to figure out what is right with the world and what is wrong, in order to offer the Good News and love of Jesus Christ.
To bear the fruit of the Spirit in a compelling and convincing way in today's world, requires the church to become aware of and pay attention to its cultural context-which is its missional context. Every congregation is called within its context to become a learning and discerning community, able to separate the wheat from the chaff, and to offer a distinctive and hope-filled witness.
